Terms of sale
Prices, payment, delivery, withdrawal and refunds.
Version 1 — August 2026. These terms govern any order placed on the Akèda website.
1. Purpose and scope
These terms of sale apply to any order placed on the site by a reader, an advertiser, a company or a project leader. For anything relating to price, payment and delivery, they take precedence over the terms of use.
Placing an order constitutes unreserved acceptance of these terms, in the version in force on the day of the order.
2. What we sell
Subscriptions
- Monthly subscription — 3,500 F : access to all newsroom content reserved for subscribers.
- Annual subscription — 35,000 F : the same access, over twelve months.
- Akèda Mag subscription — 14,000 F per year : the six bimonthly issues in digital format.
- Investor network — 50,000 F per year : opportunities letter, files before anyone else, access to the private group.
Individual purchases
- Premium article — 1,000 F.
- Akèda Mag issue — 3,900 F.
- Expert work : price shown on each listing. It is not included in the subscription — that is the counterpart of paying its author. Subscribers get a discount, shown on the listing.
Publication services
- Profile — 35,000 F.
- Sponsored article — 25,000 F.
- Event listing — free. Coverage options (dedicated article, photo report) are invoiced separately, at the price shown on the form.
- Vetting an investment file — 75,000 F.
All prices are in CFA francs (XOF), all taxes included. Akèda reserves the right to change them at any time; the applicable price is the one shown at the time of the order.
3. Order
An order goes through three steps: summary, payment, confirmation. It is final once payment is validated. A confirmation email, serving as a receipt, is sent to the address given.
It is up to you to check that your email address is correct: your access and downloads go through it.
4. Payment
The methods accepted are Mobile Money (MTN, Moov), bank card (Visa, Mastercard) and bank transfer.
Mobile Money and card payments are processed by an approved provider. Akèda has no access to any bank details and keeps none.
For payment by transfer, the details are sent to you by email: the order remains pending and is only validated once the funds are actually received.
5. Delivery
- Online content — subscriptions, individual articles: access opens immediately after payment is confirmed.
- Downloadable documents — the Review, expert work, digital products: a personal link is sent by email. It allows 5 downloads over 7 days. After that, the document remains available from your account.
- Publication services — the newsroom reviews then publishes within 72 working hours of receiving a complete file.
- Vetting a file — an analyst contacts you within five working days. Publication only takes place if the file is approved.
Documents sold carry a personal watermark identifying the buyer. Redistributing them is therefore traceable and constitutes a breach of these terms.
6. Right of withdrawal
Digital content provided immediately after payment — access to an article, download of a document, opening of a subscription — is delivered as soon as the order is placed. By validating your payment, you request this immediate delivery and, to that extent, waive your right of withdrawal.
This waiver does not apply to publication and vetting services as long as the newsroom has not started its work: you can cancel them by email and be refunded in full.
7. Refusal and refund
The newsroom may refuse a publication service in the cases listed in the editorial charter — in particular an unverifiable claim presented as fact, a promise of returns, or named disparagement. A refusal gives rise to a full refund, with no other compensation.
A refund is also granted if purchased content turns out to be unavailable, or if a delivered document is defective and cannot be replaced.
Apart from these cases, sales of digital content are final.
8. Subscriptions: duration and cancellation
The subscription runs from the validation of payment, for the period purchased. It is not renewed automatically : a reminder is sent to you before the end date, and renewal requires a new step on your part.
You can stop a subscription at any time from your account. Access remains open until the end of the paid period; the period already begun is not refunded.
9. Experts and their pay
An expert who publishes on Akèda receives 60% of the price of each sale of their work, net of payment platform fees. Sums due are paid at the frequency and threshold shown in their account, to the details they have entered.
The discount granted to subscribers is borne by Akèda: it does not reduce the author’s share.
A contribution withdrawn for a breach — disguised promotional content, an invented source — gives no right to any payment.
10. Guarantees and liability
Akèda guarantees that the content delivered matches its description. It does not guarantee that reading it will produce any particular commercial, financial or professional result.
No content sold constitutes personalised investment advice. The listings ofInvest in Benin state their level of verification; Akèda guarantees neither a project leader’s solvency, nor the accuracy of the figures they provide, nor the outcome of an investment.
Akèda’s liability, if engaged, is limited to the amount of the order concerned.
11. Invoicing
An invoice is issued for any publication or vetting service, and on request for other orders. Send your request to akedamedia@gmail.com quoting the order reference.
12. Complaints and disputes
Any complaint must be sent to us by email, stating the order reference. We acknowledge receipt within 48 working hours.
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Benin. Failing an amicable agreement, disputes fall under the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Cotonou, subject to the protective rules applicable to consumers.
In one sentence
Digital content is delivered immediately and is therefore final; publication services, however, can be cancelled as long as the newsroom has not started.
